Halls Gap in the Grampians offers up surprises in the spring for the uninitiated. On a side trip I decided to take a quick trip to the local summit to see what I could see, a balmy spring day turned out to be something else.
The Pinnacle looms over Halls Gap and is the highest peak in the Grampians. At a height of 1,168 metres, Mount William is known for having one of the best viewing platforms with a short circuit and 2.1km direct walk. This accessibility and the well maintained track is a magnet for visitors, both prepared and the unprepared!
The Pinnacle has one of the best viewing platforms in the Grampians, but Spring weather is capable of turning the summit into something resembling winter as these overseas visitors quickly discovered.
