Its been a wet spring in Hobart, October in the south is known for its unstable weather producing windy and often wet blustery conditions. The opportunity for the skittish population to migrate outdoors has them on edge. The ritual of fish and chips at the waterfront is strong..
The waterfront’s Silver Gulls have had slim pickings this spring. The flock mob prospective punters hoping their flooding techniques will have the target of their attention abandon the food.
To some this exercise is one of pleasure, its the closest they get to the any member of the avian world and feeding them is an act of grace. However this species thrives as scavengers and will brazenly seek food at any opportunity.
This is a meal best avoided, but if you must, do so at your own risk….
